Project update - 10

Project update - 10

This week we marked the end of the design and creation stages of the project with the completion of the storyboard and the levels James and I were assigned to create (printscreens of the level will be added later). Unfortunately we are still behind on the project due to several holidays during the project lifecycle, we currently need to get the game beta tested and then sign off. We still have plenty of time in order to complete the last tasks so the current setback wont be too much of an issue.

Project update - 8

Project update - 8

This week I marked the end of the design stage by completing the games storyboard and layout. The group is currently behind schedule due to some unforeseen setbacks (holidays). But creation of the game has already begun and we have managed to save a lot of time as we had spare time
inbetween making designs so we could begin creation of the actual game alongside the design stage.

According to the gant chart we are behind schedule, however, the time allocated for feedback and signing off shouldn't take the amount of days stated, so we will still make the deadline.

This week we began the final steps to the design work for the project including creating the concept art for the game, as well as mood boards. In addition we have begun work on the storyboard which isn't entirely finished, however, we are still ahead of schedule according to the gant chart.

Once the storyboard has been completed we will submit the designs for evaluation and feedback.

After recieiving feedback on my Gant chart and pert chart i have made several changes, including making the exhibition date the 18th May, and the pert chart has been changed to include a critical path showing the exact route the project needs to make.

Project update - 5

This week we had to make changes to the pert chart we made previously by re-arranging various boxes. Unfortunately, this means that we are now one day behind according to the gant chart, however, this shouldn't be too difficult to catch up with.

Project Update - 3

Project Update - 3

The aim for this week was to complete the research into the storyline of the game. I did research into the storylines of games such as Quake and Doom, and decided that our game would follow a similar path as it's a 3D first person shooter that has older looking visuals and graphics. However, the storyline would have too be simpler due to time and equipment restraints.

According to the gant chart we are completely up to date with the project so far.

Project Update - 2

Project Update - 2

I've updated the gant chart in order to make the project more manageable. The aim for this week was to complete the research stage of the project, and after completing a big chunk of the research section i have brought myself back up to speed on the project, after the setback due to the Christmas holidays.

At this stage the project looks like it will be completed by the deadline.

Project Update - 1

Project Update - 1

Currently the research stage is unfinished and behind schedule, this is because of a three week break for the Christmas holidays, however, before the holiday we did ample research to gain an understanding in what software we would use and which existing games are similar.

In order to catch up we'll have to do work outside of the allocated project time slot.
